When the rain falls down
the lavender irises lay on the ground
some struggle to stand
flatten, stalks bent
as the rain falls down
the sheets rap the window
the zinnias, petals wet from an overnight rain
with melancholy sighs
when the rain falls down
I struggle to stand.
